You must have your friends meet you personally at 9:00 in the morning, fed and ready to work. You are prepared for their birth and if they’re on time, the packaging of your vehicle that is moving should have a maximum of four months. MAXIMUM. Don’t make while you pack your friends wait around, participate in packaging, arrange your stuff, or wash your apartment that is previous. These are all things you can do. It was really nice of them to say to your pleads for assistance, so please don’t make them do more than necessary, or their moment waste. That is just plain rude!

4.  Change your speech.
Some utilities may have to wait till the day before to switch over, however you could call your gas company, electric company, water/sewer, and cable/Internet beforehand to give your ending date to them in your old residence. Doing all this beforehand will help provide a smooth transition from one house. I suggest finishing your utilities not on Moving Day, however on the day after. That way you can still use electricity, A/C, etc. while you’re moving all your belongings. You’ll certainly need to keep that fridge so it is possible to store beer or water to your helpers that are shifting running. Crucial parts of advice, I tell you.

This sounds like a simple step, but it involves a lot more than simply filling out a forward address form with the post office (that you can do online). Here are some other places You Will Need to Consider changing your speech:
Once I reach my place the series on Revival will continue. Wish me luck, and patience… I’ll definitely need it.

5. Change on solutions and your utilities.

Moving Day ishang . I’m not in my giant soapbox yet. Allow me to receive out my megaphone. Just gimme a sec… Alright, let me try again. MOVING DAY IS NOT ABOUT PACKING OR ORGANIZING THINGS!!!

1. When you’re moving around town, if at all possible, prevent a U-Haul.
This is a picture of me. That is a photograph of me Moving Day in the end of 2012. I am sweating since I transferred nearly my whole apartment by myself (exceptions: a desk, a dresser, a bookshelf, a bed). That makes me equally stinky and a badass. Often times these two things go together. If you want a few tips from a regularly moving lady like myself you’re in the perfect location. To begin with, browse my Transferring Checklist (Part 1). When you are done, you can select up with the remainder of my hints here. Let’s start (again).

Watch, you should have befriended quite a long time to a dude or lady with a pickup truck! That is where these people have a solemn obligation as large-vehicle owners to help their out buddies . I mean it’s just something that you agree to when you purchase a truck. Your friends are going to request your help moving. Deal with it.

Take a look at the remainder of my moving chain:
I am Moving!

2. Make Moving Day that: MOVING.
<img class="thumb-image" data-image="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330c07e4b00822726270d3/1395854384865/Screen+Shot+2014-03-26+at+1.18.41+PM.png" data-image-dimensions="600×600" data-image-focal-point="0.5,0.5" alt="Rental Revival Moving Checklist: Tips + Tricks to get a Smooth Move” data-load=”false” data-image-id=”53330c07e4b00822726270d3″ data-type=”image” src=”https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330c07e4b00822726270d3/1395854384865/Screen+Shot+2014-03-26+at+1.18.41+PM.png?format=1000w” /p

  1. Charge cards
  2. Bank account
  3. Direct deposit enrollments
  4. Your company (s)
  5. Driver’s license
  6. Passport
  7. Healthcare offices (physicians, dentist, veterinarian, etc.. )
  8. Online accounts with transport information (Amazon.com, Etsy, etc.)
  9. Mailing subscriptions (magazines, catalogs, etc. ) )

You would be surprised how many places utilize automatic billing or shipping that will require your address. I have made the mistake before and when they moved to charge meI never obtained the forwarded mail and wound up with a past due notice. Whoops!
Ugh. This is the worst. However, it really needs to be carried out. Wipe down bathroom walls with hot, soapy water (not a ton, only a damp rag); wash out kitchen and bath cabinets; wash the heck out of your sinks, toiletshower; mop each the flooring. You’re likely going to want to combine your boxes or within a specified corner of a space so that you can clean them around as you go. This is the worst part about going so I am gonna leave it at that.

*Ahem* Yes. So. If you are enlisting the aid of friends and family on Moving Day, you have your garbage together and ready for those exceptionally kind and courteous people to take part in the only four measures they ought to be worried about: 1) Pick up box or furniture. 2) Put furniture or box in vehicle. 3) Eliminate furniture or box out of vehicle. 4) Put furniture or box down somewhere in fresh home.
Unless to doesn’t encourage your wireless company services like your mobile phone won’t have to be changed. But, you’ll have to phone or go online to change your address. Don’t overlook your tenant’s insurance!
So, how does it feel being more”in the know” about what it requires to guarantee a smooth movement? I bet it seems pretty dang amazing. If you would like more hints, don’t forget to have a look at my
Part 1 of this checklist so that you may get the full scoop. If you’re moving around town before Moving Day and you’re able to take a couple of trips on your vehicle, do this. This way the truck is mostly used for furniture and boxes that were thick you can not get by yourself. I despise because I am a DIYer, that I guess is sort of ironic because U-Hauls should be the DIY of moving vans using U-Hauls. Maybe U-Hauls are the”mainstream auto” moving van and the”authentic hardcore DIY” vehicle of choice will be taking your car into your new home 15 times solo and then borrowing your friend’s pickup truck one day for each one the large items. At least that’s the way I do it. #movingchamp
So, packaging that is just how much have you accomplished since my last post? I really don’t understand why I’m assuming you guys are moving together with mepersonally, but for some reason I really feel like you are. No? I’m alone in this speeding Hell? Alright, well, I will just continue doing my thing then.

3. Everything prior to unpacking.
U-Hauls are overpriced when you use them for small distances. It cost almost $100 per for the roommate and I to utilize one. That day was the last time I will ever use a U-Haul for such a distance. (To be fair, the U-Haul was mostly because of her things… Mine was moved solo during the week before, which is where Instagram Photo #1 is from.)
