Star of the week gets a great deal of fun “perks, even ” but the one the children love the good thing is that they get to take home the course stuffed animal, Dex. James continues to be taking Dex and we’ve been taking a lot of images of the both of them jointly. It’since I ’ m always like s SUPER STRESSFUL for me and entertaining for James, “WHERE IS DEX?! WHERE IS HEEEEEEE?! ” It’s s keeping track of stuffed creatures that leave the home, allow ALONE a stuffed animal that 22 children absolutely adore and would absolutely kill me should it become lost. I m THISCLOSE into placing a tracking device. BUT HEY James is having fun so who cares LOL, about my breakdown.

The Darkness Around Us Is Deep: Solstice and Game Night
With this night of the year, I’m packing up games and working on a supermarket run for neighborhood sport night.
As twilight drops in early afternoon, my head swims through events from earlier this season (initially composed on Twitter).
Let me tell you a love story from last night:
We were conducting a huge board game event raising cash for @RileyChildrens. The lights blinked on and off- and a few of them collapsed if a LIVE electricity line near us moved down. We had just started a team Wits and Wagers trivia game once the hall plunged into darkness.
A cell phone flashlight turned. And a few more. They swiveled supporting the game boards such as footlights. A congregant who had simply provided us dinner filled holes with voitives and adhere candles as we kept playing. And people distributed these little lights to most of the tables. People made jokes.
We kept playing. I was actually relieved that the hall had not simply emptied out. Everyone was there buying things and committing into @RileyKids. Helping- attracting small lighting, sharing illumination.
This was much like…
when our daughter was having severe health difficulties. I felt lost in the dark. And somebody gave a small light to show the way. Afterward a few. Then many- each individual bringing exactly what they had to donate or…
amplifying the light of others even when they couldn’t create any themselves. I never had to locate a light myself, but might concentrate on the tasks at hand and also ongoing life already in progress.
It took me back into this gratitude and community support that is
#WhyIExtraLife, #WhyWeExtraLife. With my community, I fell in love From candlelight and the black all over again. Thanks, friends to be the light and sharing the light of the others.
On this long night of winter solstice it’s very fitting to return in the hot decoration of friends and community.

Nope….just over-extended and helpless! Last week was a matter of excitement and insanity and some despair. My sweet 4 year old that likes to talk and play and sing and learn, started pre-school. Shecomes residence bubbling over with excitement to tell me all about it and’s so happy as a lady! I had to take this image of her blinged out school sneakers….they are precious and soooooo her.

This candy lady and this precious man left this morning to get an 18 month mission in Santiago, Chile. Their 5 children and their spouses, and 17 grandchildren were there to see them off. Obviously there were plenty of despair and tears are an understatement, but there was pride and abundant love! I am proud of dad and my mom. They are the very best people I know. It had been so tough now to say goodbye to them, but I am comforted that they are in his palms and that they’re doing God’s job.
