Since the town transforms it s. It becomes a little more occupied. Not that it was occupied or less bustling in the wintertime, but everyone isn ’ t simply going in a sea of black coats and their headphones in, from destination start to destination end. They float, – and meander, slide I kid you not – practically jump! I vow our eyes match , and smiles are traded as we cross trails walking a tiny bit more openly. There is music in the playground, also probably unicorns somewhere just out of sight, so I ’ m sure, and petals from blooms blowing in the end. 😉
Lash against jealousy from madalena! Additionally, this woman trying to walk and is standing. A part of me wants to drive against over and be like, “ NOOOOOOO! ” but the aspect of me is excited she’s ’s ready!
Photographs from saturday and sunday, at which a lot of it had been spent outdoors wandering the park shedding light jackets and sweaters and halting at every other playground. Had to make a fast run at the same point, it was good! 😉
General conference weekend is likely another reason the weekend may go down in the books as a great one. Felt so much love from what I was able to catch the day’s mother duties.
Met up at central park for a picnic with friends. She brought her strata (egg casserole dish) in a cast iron skillet that just proved why we are friends! (for all those curious about transport, we both live just a short few blocks in the park and also the base of our strollers are basically our mary poppins automobile trunks from the city. What do they not hold?! That’s the question)
Town doesn transform though. I transform. I think I’theres human being if the sun is out, a mom, wife. And so perhaps that’s O I’m especially thankful when spring shows her face. When I need her , she comes. At some time when I’m not certain if I can hold on any more, to a different afternoon in puffy jackets with frozen ankles (still despise socks) and days where it gets dark about 4 in the afternoon. And therefore yes, because I’m a firm believer from the love language of affirmations, kindly ’ll just keep thanking her over and over again for what she brings into my spirit this time of year, and also continue mumbling under my breath as well as to anyone beside me every few moments, “she’s ! I can’t get over it. this weather! I’m. ”
Like I began to say it , I caught myself mid-sentence and started visiting my girlfriend that had been pushing her stroller yesterday while we made our way together with our families via park. 47th moment I muttered the term and while I understood it was somewhere between the 16th, “I cannot get over this weather! Also we and ” ’d been out a couple of hours. Like I constantly am this time of year, I was a record, but I couldn ’ t help myself. If the blossoms come out along with the coatings come off, the entire world feels like a much better place. Foolish as it sounds.

PARENTING
- Entire my anxiety has diminished as sleep has gotten better. Townes being joyful during alert time makes me such a happier momma! I love that Dave and I tag-team everything. He’s the best partner, husband, and dad I’ve ever dreamed of getting. The week days fly by and the weekends seem so long–especially being awake with just two little ones. Maintain the days moving and we try to get out so that we keep Theron entertained! When Townes fights with napping [i.e. nearly every weekend!] It is very important to keep us occupied to not live on another nap–haha.
- I am adoring Townsie in this smiley stage and’m getting very excited for the sitting up unassisted stage and riding in carts point. Thanks for bringing to our world.

WOW! How to Make Your Own Blue and White Chinoiserie Lamp!
I really think you all might lose your minds over my latest discovery. Or at least, I did. But wait, wait, let me backtrack…
As I’ve mentioned before, I (along with everyone else in the design world, it seems!) am in LOVE with the blue and white thing happening. I’ve been slowly collecting vases and plates and platters of all kinds, mostly from antique shops, Goodwill (if I’m lucky), and some online auction sites like Everything But the House. My hunting has taught me that the name for many of these pieces is Chinoiserie.
It also seems to me that as soon as you attach the word Chinoiserie (pronounced chi-noi-ser-ie) to anything, it automatically quadruples in price! Which is why my collecting has been very slow and strategic. I can’t be giving my husband ulcers over this stuff. 🙂
For awhile now I’ve been searching for a small Chinoiserie lamp to fit a quirky spot in our house. Until I find the perfect one, I’ve been using a rather ugly little lamp that just irritates me every time I look at it. Does that ever happen to you? It’s the perfect size and scale for the space but the more I stare at it, the uglier it gets! Here it is (sorry so blurry but you get the idea):
Then, suddenly…inspiration! While I’m waiting for the perfect antique yet inexpensive Chinoiserie blue and white lamp to fall into my lap (that happens, right?), why not use a few old and faithful friends to spruce up my existing lamp?
Mod Podge.
Scrapbook paper.
Rub-n-Buff.

So first I needed some scrapbook paper or gift wrap in a classic blue and white pattern. Easy, right? I trekked all over town and all over the internet. Nothing. Seriously, I just needed a few sheets of this stuff and I figured the design trend was so hot right now, it’d be a cinch! Nope.
Finally, I stumbled upon this adorable Chinoiserie pumpkin done by Susan from Between Naps on the Porch.
She made this cutie herself after seeing something similar in Country Living and wrote a fabulous tutorial here. And you know where she got her scrapbook paper? A photocopier. Seriously!
So here’s the part that is just blowing my mind with the possibilities: a good color copier can print any pattern you want (assuming you’re not pirating it of course). Just take yourself to Kinkos or FedEx or wherever, bring an inspiration piece to be copied, like a flat piece of fabric, pages from a book, or (in my case), email them a PDF of a design you like. Then here’s the key: have them make a color photocopy using a digital laser printer (not ink jet, which I think is what most of us have in our basements!). A laser printer will make sure that the pretty colors on your paper won’t run when you start working with the Mod Podge. Also, I found that a slightly heavier weight paper was more like the weight of scrapbook paper and was great to work with (my FedEx Office guy called it 32 lb. weight).
I was able to find some beautiful digital scrapbook paper from a shop on Etsy (link here if you’d like it for yourself!), and for less than $5 I got an instant download of six .jpg files. Six gorgeous Chinoiserie prints to choose from! I converted them to PDFs (although I think it would have been just as easy to print as .jpgs), emailed them to my local shop, hustled myself over to pick them up and within 20 minutes I had these in my hot little hands:
So now back to my lamp.
First I gave it a quick coat of paint so nothing would bleed through. White paint over the parts to be covered with the paper. Gold paint for the parts where I was going to put Rub-n-Buff.
Next I applied the Rub-n-Buff (in Grecian Gold) and cut my scrapbook paper to fit. I glued it on with a few layers of Mod Podge (under the paper and two layers on top). Then…patience while the whole thing dried.

Let me zoom in just a bit.
Even I, the Queen of Mod Podge, am surprised at how well this turned out! I hoped for something that would just look better than it did before (not hard to do). But I really think I’d be drawn to this lamp if I saw it in a shop today, not just because I rescued it from ugly!
Even getting up very close, the colors are crisp and clean. No bleeding at all. I’m telling you. Laser printer. A revelation.
Who am I kidding? This discovery doesn’t mark the end of my Chinoiserie hunt. The thrill of the chase, right? Ha! But it’s a fun and inexpensive way to copy a look that I know many of us love.

Kitchen Accessories & Inspiration | Stylish Designs and Dinner Sets
I dream already very long is a large kitchen. This is all the places in the house where I always think of how I would address in which lamps, accessories, and dishes I would like. Do not get me wrong, a huge walk-in closet is definitely on my wishlist but kitchen … sigh … yes, that is secretly at No. 1. Today I would, therefore, like beautiful kitchen inspiration with you. Do you watch it?
The kitchen accessories should be a place where really lived for me, a large dining table with plenty of seating where you drink tea cozy , bubbles and of course eat delicious with family or friends. While you can enjoy cooking with the stories and gezellligheid .Â
Though I have a reasonable idea of how it should look , I think still regularly beautiful pictures of kitchens that really inspire me out . This kitchen ( above ) by Studio Ferrania I think certainly very special in terms of design , materials, and accessories . Rural, stylish, yet tight and a little rugged.
Another example which opens my kitchenware is the heart of this wonderful design of West Kensington . It has the little country thing but chiques wherever I like very much in a kitchen.
I love different service styles (apparently inherited from my mother). This service of DAOM I really speaks immediately ! Beautiful colors , nice design , fits into the pastel trend, Â and the fun shapes that fit together , you can nicely on your dinnerware table “ decorate ” .
A brand that I have sometimes captivated am the brand Le Creuset . Those colors ! From bright to pastels. Each kitchen princess would surely have are such a beautiful colored pan.
A nice tablecloth and napkins should certainly not be missed. This tablecloth Jurianne Matter has a very natural look and feel fits perfectly with the rural and sleek kitchen .
Another very striking brand Bormiolli . How cute are these scales !
A point where I ’m always critical of enlightenment , I do not find a lamp pretty quickly. This particular chandelier falls cleanly straight to me in the taste. The whole picture , I find beautiful. This lamp is brand BB Interior.
Perhaps slightly over the top but wow, those chairs haha! Secretly I keep it there again , no standard and a very nice color . The seats are 2A Design.How your kitchen is big or small, you can’t as beautiful and special as you want. I love that wonderful inspiration for beautiful kitchen ideas!

Office Coffee Bar with Fireclay Tile
So my amazing team here at House Seven Design has seen our humble little home office come a long way since our companies early beginnings.
We’ve grown a lot and as a result have gone through a couple of what I like to think of as “awkward teen years” getting to where we want to be. From working out of spare bedrooms, the dining table, to finally our renovated basement converted into our home office– Having a designated work space has always been a priority so we can make the most of our time without the distractions of the rest of the house –(which are plenty when you have three kids and two dogs)
Teaming up with Fireclay Tile helped to make a particular vision come to fruition that is our beloved coffee bar!
Choosing Fireclay Tile for our backsplash was an easy choice because their products are all stunning and they made the whole process such a breeze! Selecting which tile was the tricky part as the samples we pulled were all just so good.
