Moving Checklist (Part 2)

http://rentalrevival.com/home/2014/3/31/moving-checklist-part-2

You must have your friends meet you personally at 9:00 in the morning, fed and ready to work. You are prepared for their birth and if they’re on time, the packaging of your vehicle that is moving should have a maximum of four months. MAXIMUM. Don’t make while you pack your friends wait around, participate in packaging, arrange your stuff, or wash your apartment that is previous. These are all things you can do. It was really nice of them to say to your pleads for assistance, so please don’t make them do more than necessary, or their moment waste. That is just plain rude!

4.  Change your speech.
Some utilities may have to wait till the day before to switch over, however you could call your gas company, electric company, water/sewer, and cable/Internet beforehand to give your ending date to them in your old residence. Doing all this beforehand will help provide a smooth transition from one house. I suggest finishing your utilities not on Moving Day, however on the day after. That way you can still use electricity, A/C, etc. while you’re moving all your belongings. You’ll certainly need to keep that fridge so it is possible to store beer or water to your helpers that are shifting running. Crucial parts of advice, I tell you.

This sounds like a simple step, but it involves a lot more than simply filling out a forward address form with the post office (that you can do online). Here are some other places You Will Need to Consider changing your speech:
Once I reach my place the series on Revival will continue. Wish me luck, and patience… I’ll definitely need it.

5. Change on solutions and your utilities.

Moving Day ishang . I’m not in my giant soapbox yet. Allow me to receive out my megaphone. Just gimme a sec… Alright, let me try again. MOVING DAY IS NOT ABOUT PACKING OR ORGANIZING THINGS!!!
<img class="thumb-image" data-image="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330b65e4b06945e5d1029b/1395854295863/rental+revival+moving+checklist+1" data-image-dimensions="600×600" data-image-focal-point="0.5,0.5" alt="Rental Revival Moving Checklist: Tips + Tricks to get a Smooth Move” data-load=”fictitious” data-image-id=”53330b65e4b06945e5d1029b” data-type=”image” src=”https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330b65e4b06945e5d1029b/1395854295863/rental+revival+moving+checklist+1?format=1000w” />

1. When you’re moving around town, if at all possible, prevent a U-Haul.
This is a picture of me. That is a photograph of me Moving Day in the end of 2012. I am sweating since I transferred nearly my whole apartment by myself (exceptions: a desk, a dresser, a bookshelf, a bed). That makes me equally stinky and a badass. Often times these two things go together. If you want a few tips from a regularly moving lady like myself you’re in the perfect location. To begin with, browse my Transferring Checklist (Part 1). When you are done, you can select up with the remainder of my hints here. Let’s start (again).

Watch, you should have befriended quite a long time to a dude or lady with a pickup truck! That is where these people have a solemn obligation as large-vehicle owners to help their out buddies . I mean it’s just something that you agree to when you purchase a truck. Your friends are going to request your help moving. Deal with it.

Take a look at the remainder of my moving chain:
I am Moving!

2. Make Moving Day that: MOVING.
<img class="thumb-image" data-image="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330c07e4b00822726270d3/1395854384865/Screen+Shot+2014-03-26+at+1.18.41+PM.png" data-image-dimensions="600×600" data-image-focal-point="0.5,0.5" alt="Rental Revival Moving Checklist: Tips + Tricks to get a Smooth Move” data-load=”false” data-image-id=”53330c07e4b00822726270d3″ data-type=”image” src=”https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330c07e4b00822726270d3/1395854384865/Screen+Shot+2014-03-26+at+1.18.41+PM.png?format=1000w” /p

  1. Charge cards
  2. Bank account
  3. Direct deposit enrollments
  4. Your company (s)
  5. Driver’s license
  6. Passport
  7. Healthcare offices (physicians, dentist, veterinarian, etc.. )
  8. Online accounts with transport information (Amazon.com, Etsy, etc.)
  9. Mailing subscriptions (magazines, catalogs, etc. ) )

You would be surprised how many places utilize automatic billing or shipping that will require your address. I have made the mistake before and when they moved to charge meI never obtained the forwarded mail and wound up with a past due notice. Whoops!
Ugh. This is the worst. However, it really needs to be carried out. Wipe down bathroom walls with hot, soapy water (not a ton, only a damp rag); wash out kitchen and bath cabinets; wash the heck out of your sinks, toiletshower; mop each the flooring. You’re likely going to want to combine your boxes or within a specified corner of a space so that you can clean them around as you go. This is the worst part about going so I am gonna leave it at that.
<img class="thumb-image" data-image="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330bb7e4b0e1d1e05be210/1395854503986/rental+revival+moving+checklist+2" data-image-dimensions="600×600" data-image-focal-point="0.5,0.5" alt="Rental Revival Moving Checklist: Tips + Tricks to get a Smooth Move” data-load=”false” data-image-id=”53330bb7e4b0e1d1e05be210″ data-type=”image” src=”https://static1.squarespace.com/static/514a7557e4b0896b363572cc/t/53330bb7e4b0e1d1e05be210/1395854503986/rental+revival+moving+checklist+2?format=1000w” /p

*Ahem* Yes. So. If you are enlisting the aid of friends and family on Moving Day, you have your garbage together and ready for those exceptionally kind and courteous people to take part in the only four measures they ought to be worried about: 1) Pick up box or furniture. 2) Put furniture or box in vehicle. 3) Eliminate furniture or box out of vehicle. 4) Put furniture or box down somewhere in fresh home.
Unless to doesn’t encourage your wireless company services like your mobile phone won’t have to be changed. But, you’ll have to phone or go online to change your address. Don’t overlook your tenant’s insurance!
So, how does it feel being more”in the know” about what it requires to guarantee a smooth movement? I bet it seems pretty dang amazing. If you would like more hints, don’t forget to have a look at my
Part 1 of this checklist so that you may get the full scoop. You can also reflect just a little bit about the psychological side of moving by watching the second installment of (Re)formulate Life together with myself and Relocation Expert Allegra Stein. By linking with #reinventlife to share adventures and your own thoughts on moving join in the discussion!
If you’re moving around town before Moving Day and you’re able to take a couple of trips on your vehicle, do this. This way the truck is mostly used for furniture and boxes that were thick you can not get by yourself. I despise because I am a DIYer, that I guess is sort of ironic because U-Hauls should be the DIY of moving vans using U-Hauls. Maybe U-Hauls are the”mainstream auto” moving van and the”authentic hardcore DIY” vehicle of choice will be taking your car into your new home 15 times solo and then borrowing your friend’s pickup truck one day for each one the large items. At least that’s the way I do it. #movingchamp
So, packaging that is just how much have you accomplished since my last post? I really don’t understand why I’m assuming you guys are moving together with mepersonally, but for some reason I really feel like you are. No? I’m alone in this speeding Hell? Alright, well, I will just continue doing my thing then.

3. Everything prior to unpacking.
U-Hauls are overpriced when you use them for small distances. It cost almost $100 per for the roommate and I to utilize one. That day was the last time I will ever use a U-Haul for such a distance. (To be fair, the U-Haul was mostly because of her things… Mine was moved solo during the week before, which is where Instagram Photo #1 is from.)

A picnic birthday party

http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/ColoursDekor/~3/CaNVOTbcaPM/a-picnic-birthday-party.html

Here’s a poster to guide the tiny guests.

Miniature picnic baskets were the invitations. To each of the baskets was supplied a pop of bright green and pink (the colour theme – pink, green and brown), a brownish paper scroll that had the party information and a pink and green rubber ring round it.

For the setup that was gorgeous, furniture was carried by them to the playground from Sara’s room. The below rack for also our step ladder to the return presents, her table for the cake and the meals bags. All the rugs were also taken by them from her room.
A picnic birthday celebration cannot be complete without a picnic basket party favor. The tag read: Fly search for flowers that are fallen, a kite, collect a few pebbles, eat a bite, run , plant a tree and then blow some bubbles. Go on a picnic.
Whats a celebration with popcorn, peanuts, unsalted nuts and pumpkin seeds to munch .

It is amazing to have an ourdoor birthday celebration for little ones.

Since Prachi’s little Sara enjoys being outdoors, when she switched seven that they shot her parties doors out and here’s the thing Prachi put together…. Its amazing.

For those adults homemade falafel, hummus and garlic berry baguettes, a mint, cucumber, carrot and bulghar wheat tabbouleh along with black and green grapes, potato crisps, dried rose cookies and lemonade. There was water and water for everyone.

Following the kids had a little time to settle down we played three picnic games. The invitation card read that is precisely what we did, explore and perform and we’ll conduct. For the game the children were divided into two teams and we had a sign up. I utilized the triangular flags that you saw above to mark the conclusion of every activity and the start. The children had to put a lemon on a badminton racket followed by maneuvering a ball involving some barriers with their feet and balance plates in their mind. For the second game, we researched. Each child was awarded this Let’s go researching card that didn’t take very long for me to print and make. They were also given bags to accumulate leaves, branches, etc until they put out for mining. For the game, the kids stood in a circle and had to name animals and birds found in water, in air and on earth. The catch was that class was given by the kid at the group before them and they needed to be quick. Also you couldn’t replicate answer. There was obviously a lot of crying and jumping

The food was packaged into individual portions in picnicky green purses complete with a straw, a spoon and a napkin having a napkin ring round it that was created with origami paper and also a”table mat” to place food onto also. (Prachi used large doilies and made a brownish paper ring to hold it together). In the green”picnic basket” was a small tag – Let’s Picnic.

Prachi used a completely free decoration bunting printable to generate a third bunting which read,”Happy Birthday Sara”. She used a few twine and brown pegs to bring it all together and published it.

Simply adorable. .

The party games would be the cutest, this is the thing Prachi says:

Can you see the beautiful installation below… with furniture in Saras space, a few on the ground… and also an IKEA stood for adding height…

Aya out of Aya cupcakes created this cute, that was created by small Sara. Earning her dream into reality.

The menu for the kids was butter, cheese, cucumber and carrot sandwiches and oregano corn, potato crisps, juicy green grapes, dried climbed lemonade and snacks.
The picnic baskets has been filled umbrella shaped bottles of bubbles and a tiny flower pot, with edible pebbles. The children got these vibrant kites and wind streamers at the celebration.

The geens using dashes of brown and pink… small ones running about with pink ribbons or flying kites. . What a birthday this would have been. .

The bunting and lots of newspaper balls were hung to produce the park area even more delightful than it was with all the greens & large trees.
The eyeglasses from Saras room that Prachi distressed a couple of years back…. Were used for decoration and also to”frame” the small guests for the birthday images. Photo booth of sorts.

Thats how the little picnic baskets were exhibited… on a rug from Saras room.

Pink candles for the cake and bamboo plates to serve your cake.

Menus… for your kids & adults…

The master bedroom includes a special aura and should be decorated as the primary room.  When you’ve got such space might have little option but to decorate, but in the event you’ve got a small room ! There are many possibilities for you too comfortable.  All of the colour you opt to have at the room, marked trends orange, green, turquoise as the main tone, but I believe that the mix is your flavor, and you should discover the ideal balance between people.  As is usually the woman who handles the decoration of the rooms, are inclined to create  the area muye female companion , that ends up bothering the husband be careful about that!
As for the lamps, asymmetrical layouts are stylish and guidance I can offer is do not buy a lamp that fits on the nightstand as it takes distance, it is possible to use one which  screw into the wall. Remember that everything needs to maintain harmony decorating design you’ve selected for the whole home.  I leave you a few interesting versions.

    Townes Nova // 4 Months

    http://daveandjoi.blogspot.com/2016/02/townes-nova-4-months.html

I am excited though that far, I have only missed one monthhaha. We are going to see how it ends up come.

  • His skin remains super dry [and we really made a special trip back to the physician for a psoriasis flare up all over his body] along with his scalp nevertheless has cradle cap. We have been lathering him up with cortisone per the information of the ped and covering that with vaseline. His skin looks sensitive and gets bumpy and red from the blue. We wash his possessions in Tide clear and free and have not changed anything but his body gets flare ups a great deal.
  • He fits comfortably in 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. While he is away from me when I am at work that he takes roughly 3-6 ounce. Per bottle/twice within an 8 hour period. He’s not a comfort nurser, but we’re out and when he gets tired, he probably will fall asleep! Since we are currently contemplating doing Baby Led Weaning we’re waiting to start him. Whether I’m up for it, I really don’t know, but we will see. I believe, if we decide to get it done, we’re going to wait till the first week of March or so, if Townsie is over 5 weeks.  This kind of conundrum. The ideal word to describe his sleep is that it is always INCONSISTENT. Ipersonally, like a glutton for punishment, track his sleep and wakeup times and they’re all over the area. No patterns.
  • Some nights he has three aftermath ups and a few nights he’s one. Some nights he will sleep 5-7 hours for his stretch along with that he hardly makes it two nights.
  • We’ve started allowing him CIO when placing him down to the evening and he seldom ever even cries. I had been hoping that might help him figure out how to soothe himself back to sleep soundly through the night time but it has done that.   The each 1-2 hour wakeups, although I do not mind waking up, I truly don’t [during the holidays–yay–ugh!] Killed me.
  • Each of the physician’s information, I feed him around 30 minutes before bed so that he goes to sleep properly used to not using a super full tummy. I believe this might be assisting him.
  • I’ve noticed that he’s going down and for longer moves during the nighttime than he used to.
  • He is in a sleeping sofa and utilizes his lovie and palms to attempt to self soothe.  Haha. We didn’t wish to possess him CIO for naps but swaying him and nursing him were customs we didn’t want to maintain [plus–they n’t even worked ]. We appreciate sleeping for him and want him to be able to acquire rest.  He can’t figure out how to get past that first sleep cycle and I am hoping he gets it. At father and my mother in law he appears to have achievement that is much better and longer naps –that I wish I understood the secret!
  • He’s never taken a rest more than 1.5 hours at the infant for me, but has obtained more than 2 hour naps at the packn’ play for my mother in law. Who knows!  To how it is it can literally go from hour to hour. So weird. I’m hoping it gets!
  • In his 4 month appointment that the doctor noticed he had a flat place on the right side of the mind. She was worried because she did see that sort of place on front but more-so on the back. Townes was called by her said she was concerned if his skull sutures were calibrated, he may need surgery. Cue mom freak out.  Less of a freak out was to the Potential helmet. Say what? A helmet? I thought I had done everything’right’ . Obviously I felt accountable. I was hard on myself since I believed I’d made certain he wouldn’t get a level spot by not letting him use the rockn’ play & only let him sleeping in the fold for only AND naps a few weeks! Guilt is so strong.
  • The surgeon was not convinced he had a helmet and had been confident his sutures had not fused. We wouldn’t need the operation [thankfully!] But we did receive a referral for a physical therapist. She assessed him last week, he’ll be going for an undetermined quantity of time, and also will work on adjusting his [or neck muscles that are weak ]. He said he probably developed them at the uterus [which caused me to feel less at fault–I know, ridiculous, however true] and stated that the treatment would help him to flake out and favor his left side as he does his side.
  • The therapist wasn’t convinced he needed the helmet unless we just wanted him to have a perfectly round head. She said the place wouldn’t probably go away per se, but with his mind increase and hair growth it wouldn’t be that noticeable. We chose to forego the helmet especially because it is actually only noticeable if standing on his mind, which likely won’t occur as he ages from appearing down.
  • I do not understand about you. . .but he seems pretty great for me.
  • He adores reaching out for toys of all types and does a silent giggle here and there
  • He eventually has actually uttered his carseat well and doesn’t cry when you place him in it and sometimes even coos during the ride! Success!
  • We’re working hard on tummy time to strengthen those throat muscles and that he actually prefers that to being on his back
  • PARENTING

    • Entire my anxiety has diminished as sleep has gotten better. Townes being joyful during alert time makes me such a happier momma! I love that Dave and I tag-team everything. He’s the best partner, husband, and dad I’ve ever dreamed of getting. The week days fly by and the weekends seem so long–especially being awake with just two little ones. Maintain the days moving and we try to get out so that we keep Theron entertained! When Townes fights with napping [i.e. nearly every weekend!] It is very important to keep us occupied to not live on another nap–haha.
    • I am adoring Townsie in this smiley stage and’m getting very excited for the sitting up unassisted stage and riding in carts point.  Thanks for bringing to our world.

    xo

From Baby Room to Big Girl Room

Well the time has come to say farewell to this sweet little nursery.  It has been good to us.  My little Bunny is ready for a big girl bed…well, I actually need her to be because I need that pretty gold crib right there for our next little bundle that will be here in September.  If I didn’t need the crib, I might just keep her in there forever…just kidding…kinda.
So, I’m taking this opportunity to move the baby stuff over to sweet Baby James’ nursery and changing up Alice’s room with a little more girly-ness.  After all, she surely is my girly girl. Baby James’ nursery journal will be coming soon, when I actually start the nursery :-/ …my poor second child.  When I designed Alice’s nursery I always knew that she wouldn’t have these things forever and I wanted bedding that could work for a girl or boy nursery for our exact scenario.  I’ll just be removing the floral elements and masculine-ing it up a bit.
So, as you will see (or recall if you followed her nursery journal) she has a really pretty greeny-aqua beadboard ceiling, which I’m keeping, along with the darling chandelier, and throwing pink into the mix.  I’ve moved the Summer Palace Fret drapes downstairs to my family room (which I need to show you the change up in there too).
I ordered this Louis XVI caned bed, in a beautiful cream whitewash, that will be her new bed.  I’m having a pelmet box made to go above the bed.  I’ve been toying with fabrics for months, but I’m pretty sure that this is the final.  I still need to find a trim for this.
For her bedding, I’m really still working it out.  The only thing I’ve purchased so far is the Buffalo Check Emmie Ruta bedding from Ikea, below.  I plan to use the shams behind some off-white monogrammed shams and fold the duvet at the foot of the bed.
I’m leaning towards this combo for a large scale bolster pillow.
I have two of these adorable Swedish style nightstands that will be going in her room as well.  I’m planning on stripping off the Swedish gray paint and going to the base with a stain…or maybe changing them to cream.  I’m not sure yet…so they sit…  I love the stain on the top and the antique brass hardware though, so the body will be the only change.

You might remember this adorable custom art I made for Alice’s nursery.  This is staying, where it is actually.  I’m pulling a small light greenish painted dresser from our guest room, that belonged to Frank’s grandmother, and putting it under this art for her dresser.  I’m only going to change up the hardware on this piece.

So this is where I’m at so far.
I’ve got a lot to pull together still with the rest of her art etc. but I’m liking the direction and what I have completed so far.
She’s getting very excited about her big girl bed, so that is making this even more fun.  The bed is just leaning up against the wall in her room right now waiting to be put together and we talk about how fun it’s going to be to sleep in her big girl bed soon.  I love that little Bunny fiercely!

I’ll be back soon with more from our ‘babymoon’ 🙂
I hope you’re getting a great start to the week!
